Meet Brian Flynn
Many might say that Brian Flynn’s passion is investing and trading. But the truth is Brian’s passion is helping others avoid the missteps he made as an inexperienced investor.
Brian learned how to invest out of necessity. Early in his career he managed to pay-off all his college debt and began saving for retirement. Once he built up savings, he worked with an advisor to invest his money into mutual funds. The funds did well for a while, but a scandal hit the funds and he lost nearly all his investment. That experience taught Brian that no one cares about your financial future as much as you do.
Years earlier, while pursuing his undergraduate degree, Brian took a finance class. The class taught Brian plenty about finance, but it didn’t teach actionable skills like how to invest in stocks and bonds, mutual funds, how to execute a trade, what to invest in, or how to use a trading platform. Brian is a practical person and he wanted practical knowledge
Not knowing where to start he went on a financial quest to learn all he could about investing. Through this multi-year financial journey, he has learned many styles of investing including index investing, Warren Buffett’s style of investing, technical analysis and eventually trading complex option strategies. It has been quite a personal journey of self-discovery and includes receiving his prized possession of a hand written letter from his investing hero Warren Buffett.

Throughout this process, Brian shared his passion and knowledge with friends and family, many of whom asked him to teach them what he was learning. One thing led to another, and Brian found himself helping friends of friends who were equally interested in learning how to invest in stocks and options. Brian even published a children’s book called Bee the Investor to help his young son understand investing and what it was his dad was spending so much time doing.
Soon afterward Brian developed a class for the local adult education program in a neighboring town. The class gave Brian an opportunity to showcase his knowledge and before long he was teaching investing classes in other towns.

Nothing makes Brian happier than seeing his knowledge resonate with others. Now, Brian is eager to take his training classes to a wider audience, to help more people learn the practical aspects of trading, to teach others how to get started and take control of their financial futures.
Brian has his Master’s in Business Administration from Western New England University and lives in Ellington, CT with his beautiful wife Sarah and artistic son Teddy. He enjoys cycling, hiking, tennis, golf, local craft beer and wine – and of course investing.
